Annie Johnson was desperate to have a child and had struggled for five years to conceive without success. Her sister Chrissy approached the couple with an offer they couldn't believe.
Briefly.co.za learned that Chrissy was a mother of two healthy young children of her own had experienced no problems during her pregnancy and it broke her heart to see her sister struggle to conceive.
She offered to be a surrogate for her Annie's baby if they were willing to try one more time. Annie and her husband accepted Chrissy offer gratefully according to faithtap.com.
The plan was to implant two embryos in Chrissy as well as Annie just for the last try. The two sisters were on the same menstrual cycles so the procedure was carried out at the same time.
Soon after the procedure, both sisters began to experience the symptoms of pregnancy. The sisters were very excited and had their first ultrasound together.
"They found one in me and then they moved over and saw another little sac with another flickering heartbeat, and we knew that we still had Chrissy left to go," Annie said.
Annie was pregnant with twins, both embryos were successful, the good news didn't stop there, Chrissy was also pregnant with twins.
After five years of having their hopes dashed, Annie and her husband would be having four children. The story gets better, both sisters went into labour and gave birth on the same day.
The family are ecstatic and are not daunted at having to raise quadruplets but are grateful for the opportunity.
