ANC Big guns out in force in East London for first NEC meeting

Everyone and anyone who has an important role in the ANC is in East London, the Premier Hotel ICC in East London is fully booked.

The first meeting was held to discuss the 8 January statement and there were rumours that Jacob Zuma might be recalled.

Briefly.co.za investigated and found that it was during this time when Zuma made his shock announcement, something he does from time to time, about a commission of inquiry into state capture.

Zuma survived his first NEC meeting of the new year. There was a lot of speculation around what was discussed.

Preparations are also being made for the 8 January celebrations to mark the 106th birthday of the ANC.

Cyril Ramaphosa walked the streets and took selfies with ANC supporters. Ramaphosa greeted people on the streets and took the time to allow people to take pictures with him.
