A recent study carried out by the University of Madrid has identified how people decide if someone is attractive.
Facial symmetry: The study found that the more symmetrical the face the more attractive, this is a reflection of healthy genes. People who have one particular facial feature which is strong are often found to be less attractive than an average persons face.
Facial averageness: The more average the face the more attractive it is, another study morphed faces together to create a single face out of different faces. The result was found to be more attractive than any of the individual faces.
Facial dimorphism: This is how a face represents either a masculine or feminine profile, on average men find feminine faces more attractive than masculine.
Facial maturity: This is how young or old the face appears, the study found that the younger the face the more attractive it was found by the respondents.
