The use of a vulgar adjective to describe African countries this week by US president, Donald Trump during a meeting with lawmakers in the Oval Office, has resulted in many people from the countries he dismissed tweeting about what they are doing to make their new country great.
The resulting twitter thread quickly went viral as people shared their accomplishment;s despite having come from countries Trump dismissed as not being worth accepting immigrants from.
1. An imigrant about to become a medical doctor
2. A business owner from the Sudan
3. A bilingual man who is studying nursing
4. & 5. Two future members of the press
One thing all the people have in common is their desire to make their new home country, and the world, a better place to live.
However much these accomplishments are worth celebrating Briefly.co.za strongly believes that no one should have to prove their worth in order to be treated decently with respect.
