A letter sent to rapper Cassper Nyovest reveals that he is being sued by Rawbust Productions for R3-million in property damages and loss of income.
This incident took place after the rapper was interviewed at the SA Hip Hop Awards in December of last year. The interviewer questioned Nyovest's claim that he had sold 10 million records during his career.
Briefly.co.za learned that in the letter, Nyovest had threatened to damage Rawbust Productions camera equipment. An understanding was reached that the memory card containing the interview would be handed over on condition that only the interview is deleted according to the citizen.co.za.
When the memory card was returned Rawbust Productions claim that all the data had been deleted and not just the interview as agreed upon.
Nyovest's claim that he had sold 10 million records raised a lot of eyebrows and was questioned publicly by DJ Maphorisa who also told Nyovest not to "lie" to his fans.
