- Grace Mugabe, wife of Zimbabwe's former President, Robert Mugabe has been living a flamboyant lifestyle for years flaunting her wealth
- The Mugabe family is currently still residing in Zimbabwe following the removal of Robert Mugabe from power late last year
- It is alleged that much wealth has been siphoned from the country by corrupt political actors
Photos have been released by an online news outlet of luxury vehicles, allegedly owned by Grace Mugabe, which were stopped from leaving Zimbabwe this week.
The former first lady of Zimbabwe's son Russell was reportedly stopped from crossing the border with his mother's luxury vehicles.
Briefly.co.za learned that among the vehicles stopped in the operation was a Rolls Royce, Range Rover and Porsche, according to eyewitness accounts.
Russell allegedly claimed he had been asked to take the cars for service.
He was later allowed to cross the border into Botswana.
The vehicles were later reportedly involved in an accident, incurring damages but no injuries being sustained.
Temba Mliswa, an outspoken former rugby coach, fitness trainer, Zimbabwean politician and former member of the ZANU-PF Party which he served as the provincial chairman of Mashonaland West Province before he was ousted in December 2014 has some opinions on what should be done with the vehicles.
"The cars belonging to Grace must simply be accounted for, proof of payment and source of funds. If this can’t be done they should be forfeited to the State as provided for. Corrupt leaders should not be allowed to keep what they cannot account for," he tweeted over the weekend.
